Information Travelling by bus in Malta is cheap (between 21 and 25 Maltese cents (June 2006), ca. 0.50-0.60 EUR) and you can reach nearly every place in the country. Problems The buses only have numbers on display, no information on where they are going, there are also nearly no timetables on most bus stops which often only consist of a "BUS STOP" sign on the wall of a house. When travelling by bus you need to press the STOP button in the bus before it reaches the next bus stop. Which bus stop that is you are not told so it is often quite complicated to know when to exit the bus unless you are travelling to Valetta or Mosta or one of the beaches on the western coast.        |
